Get involved
Do you want to positively influence social work regulation? Do you have lived experience of social work, or ideas for how to do things differently? If so, we want to hear from you. There are lots of different ways to get involved and influence our work.

We want to co-produce our work whenever we can. This means working with people who have lived and learned experience of social work.
We currently co-produce work with our National Advisory Forum. We are also hoping to expand our approach to co-production soon.

Your voice can help shape how we regulate social work. We regularly run consultations, where we ask for your opinions. These consultations inform our work and help us generate new ideas. So far, we have consulted on topics like our rules, standards, and policies. Contributing to a consultation is a quick and easy way to have your say.

We want to make sure that everyone can easily use our website and services. This means that we’re always looking for people to help us with testing and research. User research helps us better understand problems and identify improvements.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people who might have additional accessibility requirements. For example, if you are neurodivergent, or use assistive technology to access the internet.
If you are interested in taking part in user research, please email [email protected]. We will then contact you with opportunities to get involved.
At Social Work England, we have a team of regional engagement leads. These are registered social workers, who build relationships in their local area. They work with anyone who has an interest in social work, including (all of the following):
- social workers
- people with lived experience of social work
- social work employers
- education and training providers
If there’s anything you want to know about Social Work England or social work regulation, you can contact the regional engagement leads. They are happy to help.
Do you have a story to tell? Perhaps you’re a social worker, or someone with lived experience of social work. Maybe you have a different or unique connection to the profession. Whatever your experience, we want to hear from you. You can share your story however you feel comfortable, whether that’s:
- writing a blog
- being interviewed by our team
- speaking at one of our staff meetings
- featuring on our podcast
To talk to us about sharing your story, email [email protected].
