In this series, we’re focusing on the professional standards - the 6 standards that social workers must know, understand and be able to do as part of their role. The professional standards are specialist to the social work profession and apply to social workers in all roles and settings. They reflect the value and diversity of social work practice and the positive impact it has on people’s lives, families and communities.
Join us as we explore the standards on a deeper level, whilst showcasing the unique knowledge and enthusiasm for and from a profession rooted in public protection, positive change and improving people’s lives.

Our regional engagement lead Philippa discusses standard 6 with principal social worker's Fran and Julie. They explore fitness to practise concerns, what it means to promote ethical practice and the importance of building safe spaces for reflection.
