The annual registration period has now closed

The registration renewal period for social workers closed on 30 November and we have now updated the register.

We are pleased to announce that 102,888 (97.4%) social workers renewed and were retained on the register in 2024. The social work register continues to grow, with more social workers joining the profession.

Please note that the latest report is provisional and final figures for registration renewal will be available on 6 February 2025.

What social workers need to do

Social workers must read the email they receive about their registration renewal status. It is a social worker’s professional responsibility to ensure that they can continue to practise legally.

All social workers should check the register to confirm their registration status for 2024 to 2025.
