Recording your learning

You must record CPD on your online account to evidence that you have met standard 4.7

Recording CPD allows you to reflect on your learning and social work practice and identify areas for growth and improvement.

Why you need to record CPD

Working with social workers, employers and others with an interest in social work, we’ve developed an approach to CPD that emphasises personal reflection and the impact the learning has on practice.

With a focus on driving competence up in the profession through CPD, this approach empowers professionals to continue their learning to make sure that they’re providing the highest quality of support to people who need it the most.

By undertaking and recording CPD, you demonstrate to us and the public that you uphold our professional standards and continue to remain fit to practise.

What you should do

You should record at least one piece of CPD on your online account during each registration year (1 December to 30 November). The CPD must be your own work and a true reflection of the activities you have carried out.

Record how the learning has influenced your practice

When recording CPD, it’s mandatory that you record the impact the learning has had on your practice. You should describe the positive changes you’ve made and demonstrate the impact those changes have had with the people you work with.

Recording CPD on your online account is a requirement of your registration. For this reason, standard 4.7 will be automatically ‘selected’ on every CPD activity you upload.
