Heather Morgan
Heather is the social work lead for Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
She is passionate about promoting the rights and strengths of people who use services and working collaboratively with families, carers, and community groups to ensure holistic assessment and support.
She is an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), an ASYE assessor and mentor for AMHPs and practice educator for students. She also volunteers as an expert witness with Social Workers without Borders.
Heather qualified as social worker in 2015 and worked in an adult mental health local authority team for 5 years. In 2018 Heather qualified as an approved mental health professional (AMHP) and still practice today. In 2020 Heather qualified as a practice educator (PEPS 1 and PEPS 2) and worked as a consultant social worker responsible for training a cohort of Think Ahead students.
Heather currently supports newly qualified social workers to complete their assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE). She is part of the principal social workers network and regional NHS social work leaders network. Heather is also involved in Trustwide social work development and supporting social workers to have a voice and identity within the organisation, as well as involved in the national work to develop NHS social work.
She has recently become a specialist advisor with Community Quality Care (CQC) and will be involved in their assessments of local authorities, as well as volunteering for Social Workers without Borders which involves undertaking assessments for all ages and writing an expert legal report to aide their immigration case.
