Angela Duggan is a social worker and carer, working for Bradford Adult Social Care as a practice educator consultant. As a family carer Angie has some lived experience that helps to shape her outlook on life and belief in co-production as an essential part of planning future services and resources.

Angie has always been passionate about improving the social work profession and changing the way society, and moreover the media, view it.

Starting her career in youth work led Angie to work with young people in a project in Jamaica. Her experience has been diverse and inspiring from volunteering in India with an NGO working with mountain children to working with leaving care services, supporting young people transitioning to independence.

Angie transitioned herself to work with adults in a community social work assessment team. Angie values finding out what is important to a person as this is the foundation for a good working relationship.

It is through these experiences, working with and listening to people that she has developed her preventative approach and communication, remaining transparent and acting with integrity in all interactions. This passion, ambition and enthusiasm led her to her current role which includes supporting students, practice educators, delivering training and influencing the next generation of social workers
