Social Care Workforce Race Equality Standard (SC-WRES) data and insights

We continue to collaborate and share our data and insights with Skills for Care to support the Social Care Workforce Race Equality Standard (SC –WRES) to assist participating organisations to review their fitness to practise data and processes to help ensure fair referrals.

The SC-WRES is intended to support organisations to make progress towards race equality by collecting and analysing workforce data across nine key metrics, organisations are supported to develop action plans that drive meaningful change and measurable improvement.

One of the key metrics is Fitness to Practise (FtP). We are sharing this data to support participating organisations and to highlight disparities in the experiences of Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic social workers in our Fitness to Practise referrals.

This work directly supports our strategic objective to share the data and insights we hold about the social work profession and our regulation. By doing so, we aim to equip leaders and policymakers with the evidence they need to drive change and to ensure that our own processes are safe, fair, and transparent

About this data

We have published annual data sets containing regional and national breakdowns of referrals by each diversity characteristic for each year.

Any counts of fewer than 10 social workers will be redacted using “<10” to preserve anonymity.

“Region” data are based on a social worker's region of employment at the end of March for the relevant year.
