Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) courses

At present, we will be approving and monitoring AMHP courses against standards developed by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). 

These criteria do not replace other standards that are set by Social Work England or other regulators.

Social Work England will be reviewing these standards shortly and a reapproval cycle will begin once they are published. We will have a reapproval schedule and will contact course providers when it is time for your course reapproval.

The process for approving any new AMHP course is the same as for a qualifying social work course. Read our AMHP guidance to learn more about the approval criteria.
