Future dates for public board meetings will be published here when possible.

Attending Social Work England board meetings

We are committed to openness and transparency and therefore welcome people to attend and observe board meetings held as an open session.

Places for members of the public to attend board meetings as a guest will be allocated on a first come first served basis and will be limited according to the meeting room capacity.

For anyone wishing to attend and observe a board meeting, you are required to register your interest by emailing [email protected] no later than seven days in advance of the meeting date.

By necessity, some aspects of a board meeting may require confidentiality to discuss matters of policy in development, commercial or staff confidentiality, emerging regulatory issues, forthcoming announcements or publications. In such instances, there may be a need to hold a private session with the board and this will be indicated on the agenda for the meeting.

Guests attending our board meetings may take written notes but are not allowed to use mobile or recording devices during a meeting, unless the board has given its prior agreement.

Guests would need to be able to cover their own travel expenses in attending a Social Work England board meeting since, unfortunately, we are not able to reimburse expenditure incurred by members of the public attending our board meetings.
