Cleo Straughan

Cleo is a social worker who works within adult services in London.  

Cleo qualified as a Social Worker in 2011, writing her dissertation on the experiences of Afro Caribbean women in the Mental Health System. Her main areas of interest include the Court of Protection, mental capacity and safeguarding adults. 

Cleo is actively involved in anti-racism work within her borough, with a particular interest in intersectionality. She is also a member of the British Association of Social Workers and the Social Workers Union.  

Prior to joining the national advisory forum, Cleo completed her Practice Education Stage One. She has also recently completed British Sign Language Level 3.
