This role provides administrative support to the people and development team to enable them to progress the people and development plan.

The role

This role is a fixed term contract until 30 June 2023

Provides administrative support to the people and development team to enable them to progress the people and development plan. As an integral part of the team, you will organise the day-to-day tasks within the people and development team, working with the people and development officer to ensure appropriate support is available to deliver against the plan. You will maintain and update our people data within our people and development and recruitment systems. You will be involved in the recruitment process and management of the people, development and recruitment inbox, to provide a first-class enabling service to the business.

Salary

£22,695 per year, rising to £23,695 per year after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.

Location

Our offices are in Sheffield. We offer a hybrid model of working subject to business needs, so a mix of office working and working from home.

What you will do

  • Manage the people and development inboxes, answering general queries, escalating, and allocating as appropriate
  • Maintenance of information in all people and development systems and platforms, to ensure accuracy of data and process
  • Support the people and development officers and business partners as required in day-to-day tasks
  • Co-ordinate and organise meetings as agreed with the people and development officers and business partners
  • Support and co-ordinate interviews, ensuring roles are advertised and information provided in a timely matter to recruiting managers and panel members
  • Provide administrative support by organising and booking learning and development sessions, issuing invitations, arranging logistics, room bookings and resources
  • Issue, collate and monitor course evaluations to support evaluation reporting
  • Respond to day-to-day people and development enquiries, allocating and escalating as necessary
  • Build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation, both internally and externally
  • Proactively communicate to ensure questions and queries are addressed in good time and escalate, as necessary

Your experience, skills and knowledge

  • Experience of providing administrative or project support
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with others
  • Good team player able to work with others to achieve a shared goal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a professional approach and experience of working with confidential information
  • The ability to solve problems and think creatively
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Competence in MS Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload in order to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
